Dear Mr. Dolley,

First, I want to thank you for your help in dealing with the Missouri State Board of Nursing in a nursing board complaint and probation violations so that I am able to continue working as a nurse in Missouri. I'm writing, hoping that you will post this for other nurses that have run into trouble with the board.

For those reading this, I had a cocaine dependence. I tested positive at work and was reported. When you receive a complaint from the Missouri State Board you have two questions that go through your mind. Number 1: Do I need an attorney? Every communication from the board will state that you can represent yourself and that an attorney is not required. My recommendation is this: YOU NEED AN ATTORNEY!

Question 2 is even more important. Who do I hire? I have been in a 12 step program for 3 years and have met quite a few nurses in a similar situation. Many of us have been to attorneys. Every attorney will tell you that they can help you with your case.

It is my opinion that you need an attorney that has some experience with dealing with the Board of Nursing. The Board is not a court, it has its own rules and can pretty much do whatever it wants. It is for this reason that you need someone that has dealt with the Nursing Board.

In my interview with Mr. Dolley I discovered that he had extensive experience with the State Board. I did hire Mr. Dolley and I am glad that I did. He kept me informed, I never had to wait more than a couple of hours for a phone call to be returned. Most important he has dealt with the main attorney for the board and has had success presenting cases before the Board.

I was extremely pleased with Mr. Dolley's professionalism and his way of working with me. I could not recommend him any higher.
