Legal Defense for Entities Providing Dental Services or Employing Dentists and Dental Hygienists

Certain corporations or entities engaged in the practice of dentistry must receive a certificate that they have been registered to provide dental services by the Missouri Dental Board. These entities must also obtain a permit to employ dentists and dental hygienists.

The Board may file a complaint against a permit holder with the Administrative Hearing Commission (AHC) if the Board believes such entity is not being operated or conducted according to Missouri law. The permit holder has the right to a trial-type evidentiary hearing in which he or she has the right to examine evidence, the right to cross examine witnesses, and the right to call witnesses and present evidence. If cause for discipline is found to exist, the permit holder has a second hearing before the Board to determine what, if any, discipline is appropriate. Potential discipline includes placing the permit on probation, suspending the permit, or revoking the permit.

Corporations faced with these allegations cannot represent themselves under Missouri law. They need representation from an attorney who understands administrative law and the practice of dentistry. The Law Offices of Kevin J. Dolley has the resources and experience necessary to defend your Missouri permit to employ dentists and dental hygienists. The Firm provides comprehensive representation in administrative and civil proceedings and can help protect your permit and business.
