Labor and Employment Law Consultations
The Law Offices of Kevin J. Dolley provides legal counsel to businesses, management, human resources and employees on a wide variety of labor and employment law issues. As part of any consultation, the Firm will fully and completely review the factual and legal matters at issue and offer sound guidance, advice and a plan of action for your particular case.
Consultations often involve questions regarding hiring, firing, promotion and termination of employees. Many times there is no further action taken beyond simply providing needed advice and guidance in a single consultation. Sometimes a potential client is surprised by the advice or counsel provided. Other times a prospective client simply needs to confirm the course of action that he or she is taking.
What to Bring to a Legal Consultation
You should bring any and all information that is relevant to your legal issue at the time of the consultation. If you email Mr. Dolley or telephone him to set up a consultation, he will be able to specify what documents you should bring with you. Generally, the following list is a useful guide:
● Employment contract or offer letter;
● Memorandum of Understanding (if any);
● Employment policy, manual or handbook;
● Documentation of any disciplinary action;
● Copies of important emails;
● Performance evaluations;
● Performance Improvement Plain (PIP); and
● Any other document that you feel is important to the case.
Most importantly, if you prepare a chronology or summary of relevant events and send this to Mr. Dolley in advance of a meeting, he will review it before the meeting and then be able to spend the meeting time more effectively.
